Bug Description

Some tabs are missing their orange overstroke highlight style with the Ubuntulooks GTK theme. At least Epiphany, GEdit and GNOME Terminal are affected, yet their preferences dialogs seem to be OK. See attached screenshot.

Getting close to release now. Sad to see this regression in visual consistency at this late stage. Still affecting current Feisty.

For the record, this also affects GNOME Terminal.

The ubuntulooks theme didn't change lot in feisty, not likely a theme bug then. Does it happen using an another theme?

Clearlooks does not suffer this problem.

Does installing the edgy theme version fixes the bug?

How can I do that?

Download it from http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/u/ubuntulooks/ and double click on the deb to install it with gdebi

FYI, GDebi doesn't seem to let you downgrade packages.

I installed 0.9.11-1 and it just plain didn't work. (I get the default GTK engine.)
Upgrading to 0.9.12-2 worked, but the tabs are still behaving like they are now.
And 0.9.12-3 is the latest version.

which means the edgy theme has the same behaviour, if something changed that's not ubuntulooks. Did it look different on edgy? Do you remember around when the look changed?

Edgy did look different. Edgy's tabs are highlighted.

I'm pretty sure it's always been like this for me on Feisty, but I only started using it in mid-January.

Another point - this doesn't seem to affect any kind of preference dialogue or anything like that. Every instance of baldness I can find is on an application that is using tabs to do MDI.

ubuntulooks has been depricated. It is no longer developed in Ubuntu or as an upstream project. It has been superseded by gtk2-engines-murrine since intrepid, and it has been removed from the archive in lucid. Due to this, I am closing this bug as "Won't Fix."
