Bug Description

Binary package hint: mythtv-frontend

Backend is FC6, with the latest ATrpms packages. Frontend is Ubuntu Edgy with the latest updates.

Here's how to reproduce:

Go to Settings > Multimedia > Music > Scan Music. Proceed to the scan of your mp3s in the music directory. After the scan is complete, there is a crash when mythmusic returns control the the mythfrontend menus.

I was able to reproduce the but under Fedora too, so this problem should probably be reported upstream.

This is more than likely caused by a poorly formed mp3 file. If you just put say one file in the directory that you know has good id3 tags, plays well etc, can you reproduce this? If so, can you provide that file so it could be tested on a different box.

Changed in mythtv:
status: Unconfirmed → Needs Info

I've tried moving the music directory, except for one album, and I've reproduced the problem, both on Edgy and on FC6 frontends. As per Mario's request, here's a sample audio file from the collection.

This should be forwarded upstream to Mythtv's bug tracker svn.mythtv.org along with a backtrace according to the instructions here:
http://mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-22.html#ss22.2

Version information will also be required (mythfrontend --version).
