Bug Description
Binary package hint: amarok
I keep all of my music and media on a partition separate from the one on which /home lives. Unfortunately, Amarok downloads podcasts to ~/.kde/
Ideally, podcasts would be dumped into a subdirectory of the music library directory. Another solution would be to add yet another option to the already-crowded prefs window.
My workaround was to put a symlink at ~/.kde/

Thank you for the bug report, Will.
Choosing where the podcasts are downloaded seems like a very reasonable request to me. In order for this to be implemented you will need to file a bug at bugs.kde.org for the amarok devs to actually hear this request. Please link to it here if you choose to forward this upstream.
Unfortunately at the moment, Amarok is in a transitioning period from KDE3 to future KDE4, so no new releases will be out for about 6 months (rough developer estimate). Future work in the 1.4 branch (latest releases) will be mostly bugfixes.
Please do file the bug upstream anyway to get it into their bugtracker. Thanks!
