Bug Description

Binary package hint: synaptic

I open Synaptic and I reload the changes on the repositories. Later I modify manually /etc/apt/sources.list, commenting one line, the first repository for example. I save the changes in the file and I return to reload the changes on the repositories. Then Synaptic closes.

Thanks for your bugreport.

I can confirm this problem here. The error seems to be that synaptic parses the sources.list on startup and not again before reload.

I try to reproduce this in Ubuntu Jaunty and everything goes right, nothing like an error happens. I think this problem was solved in new ubuntu versions and by the way this version has been marked as "End Of Life" , so you have to remember that do not receive more security updates/support, you may find further information in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases.
