Incorrect resolution detected, with refresh of "-19568 Hz"

Bug Description

Feisty herd-3 live CD on Dell Dimension 5150 with Radeon X300 card (DVI + VGA out. Screen is connected via both cables)

Native res is 1280x1024. 1024x768 ends up being used, and System -> Control Center -> Screen Resolution gives only the following option:

Resolution: 1024x768
Refresh Rate: -19568 Hz

that capplet is from control-center, could you run "xrandr" from a command line and copy that to a comment?

The physical dimensions are correct - I just measured them with a ruler :)

the capplet use xrandr which apparently has the same problem, updating the package to xrandr
