Binary package hint: gaim

When copying from OpenOffice.org to Gaim, Umlauts appear as HTML code, for example with ä instead of ü.

Thank you for your bug. What version of Ubuntu and locale do you use? Does copying to other applications like gedit work fine?

I use Ubuntu Feisty and the de_DE.UTF-8 locale. Copying to gedit works fine.

Also, when copying some test to Gaim, it creates some spaces in the chat window

When I copy "hölla das ist ein tüst" (:-P) Gaim's chat window looks like that:

" hölla das ist ein tüst "

Confirmed with gaim 2.0beta6 on feisty, copy to GNOME applications or gtk-demo works fine
