The add local printer option in the print wizard in the printer module of system settings is greyed out despite the fact that both the hp toolbox and dmesg show that it is connected.

WORKAROUND:

1. Install the printer using the HP Toolbox, but select any driver (There are only about 5 available).

2. Open up the printer module in system settings and enter adminstrator mode.

3. Select the printer, and edit the driver properties, selecting the correct driver.

The printer should now work as expected.
