Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-terminal
With yesterday’s gnome-terminal 2.17.91-0ubuntu1 package, I now see a display bug when scrolling inside screen with a caption set. It can be reproduced as follows:
screen
<Ctrl-A> : caption always "moo" <Enter>
seq 30
On a 24-line terminal, you would expect to see the numbers 9 through 30, followed by the next shell prompt, and the caption line moo. However, the new gnome-terminal shows nine blank lines, followed by the numbers 9 through 24. Also, the down button on the scroll bar is enabled (which you wouldn’t expect inside screen); clicking this down button restores the display to the expected state.

This turns out to be a duplicate of <https:/ /launchpad. net/ubuntu/ +source/ vte/+bug/ 85023/>, which got fixed with a recent upload.
