Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

I'm in Kubuntu Feisty Fawn. When trying to play embedded audio in Firefox RealPlayer is listed as the default for several file types [M3U, SMI, RA, and PLS for instance]. RealPlayer will open and connect to the websites but there is no sound. I've checked Kubuntu and Ubuntu forums, How To's, and wiki's and Helix web pages to find a solution but have not succeded. Some web sites such as BBC really don't work well with anything but RealPlayer. One question would be do I need to install any Gnome apps in Kubuntu to get RealPlayer sound in Firefox. Embedded audio doesn't work any better in Opera but it does work in Konqueror [Konqueror uses Amaork, Noatun, and Kaffeine] but I prefer Firefox and would like to get RealPlayer to work there. Embedded video works on a few sites [embedded video has always been spotty in Linux OS's though Ubuntu/Kubuntu was one of the best in Dapper and Edgy]. I can play movie trailers at 'http://www.apple.com/trailers/' and they DO have sound. So far I only have 'mozilla-mplayerplug-in' installed so I'm still working on that. I really would enjoy getting consistant sound in RealPlayer. Let me know of any info needed or anything to try to resolve this issue.
Thanks,
Red Knuckles
