Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem-gstreamer

When trying to play 3gp, mwv or dat video files, it doesnt or cant download the plugins automatically.
tried downloading gstreamer ugly package for mms, ffmpeg and extra plugins.
But it still wont work.
But later I installed VLC player and then I was able to play them except .dat video files.
It is not playing VCD by default.

After installing kaffeine with all dependencies and then with xine1-ffmpeg xine is able to play them. But without xine1-ffmpeg, it wont play any of these formats.

Thank you for your bug. Could you attach an example for give an URI to download one? Did you install gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg? What happens when you try to play the video?
