Bug Description

boot process fails any graphical install, will succeed on text based install(x800 AIW?) then fail to boot on restart. Heard of apic problems on Nforce3 chipset. Booting with options noapic, pci=noapic or apic=off yield no results. Any input would be greatly appreciated. TIA

disabled ECHI hand-off in bios and 6.06 boots. X however post out-of-range. I think I can correct this.

So this was just a problem with your bios?

Most likely, its just anecdotal, but when driver hand-off is disabled
Ubuntu install proceeds without stalling. Boot-up functions more
smoothly. Don't know why this is. According to BIOS remarks on the
EHCI hand-off, it(BIOS) should detect whether or not BIOS driver
hand-off is necessary or not when enabled. Since Windows doesn't care
either way, neither do I.

I'm closing this bug. Looks like EHCI handoff is for kernel debugging over usb 2.0.

It seems to be the case. Googling rendered this:

Thanks for the reply.
