Bug Description

Binary package hint: akregator

When I go to certain webpages Akregator crashes. In this case it was LWN.net. This is repeatable, but does not happen with every article in LWN.net. The article that crashes Akregator on LWN.net is "Who wrote 2.6.20?".

Using Akregator v. 1.2.6, with KDE v3.5.6. on 7.04 Feisty.

Hard to confirm this one, but I never had the issue with Akregator nor any feed from LWN. I just used Konqueror to read that article and it seems that the code is fine. Anyone else experience a similar issue or have a crash report that is the same as the one posted?

I've experienced a similar problem.

Kubuntu Fiesty system, full updates. When using Akregator embedded in Kontact certain pages will repeatably crash Kontact.
The most notable example is any of the weblogs at www.scienceblogs.com Attempting to use the comment form on any of these weblogs will cause Kontact to crash. The operation executes flawlessly if the page is opened in Konqueror.

I was able to view the full web page of Slashdot articles in akregator
without in crashing. I also tried it with OSNews with the same results.
It looks like it may not be crashing anymore.

Cool, glad to hear it isn't crashing. I am going to close this report in the meantime, however if you experience the issue again, I urge you to reopen this report with further information if possible. Thanks!

Akregator crashes when I try to view the article "Matt Rogers (mattr): Adam Roben is my hero for the day" on the Planet KDE feed. The reason may be that the article is a HTTP 404 not found.

In my opinion this bug should be currently fixed. See http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126812 for more details. However, if someone experience this issue again, please reopen this bug. Please use KDE 3.5.7 or newer in your test, because this bug seems not fixed in previous version.
