Error message i get after three-four times trying to login:
Nautilus can't be used now, due to an unexpected error from Bonobo when attempting to locate the factory.Killing bonobo-activation-server and restarting Nautilus may help fix the problem.

Does anyone now if i should upload any logs?
Happy to answer any questiony

The problem stop when I made a new user account. I think the problem was regarding some settings in the gconf settings.

could you try to figure what user setting is triggering the crash?

i have the same problem

gnome-splash freeze on "Loading nautilus", now systems called me to close bonobo-activation-server in order to start nautilus

Every other autostart apps don't start.

The only 2 way I resolve my problem are:

 * start manually beryl (or compiz)
 * loggin with another account

You can remove your gconf folder in the home directory and then you will e able to use your'e account again.
The only problem with this is that all of the settings are gone.
I also now get an error message when trying to open theme manager.
The error message is:
"Unable to start the settings manager 'gnome-settings-daemon'.
Without the GNOME settings manager running, some preferences may not take effect. This could indicate a problem with Bonobo, or a non-GNOME (e.g. KDE) settings manager may already be active and conflicting with the GNOME settings manager."
I think that this is a bonobo server

I just got this bug today after a fresh install of Tribe 5 Gusty Gibbon Alt x86.iso.
I installed the system, and when I tried to login at the xserver(GDM?) menu it would not log in, it would try and then instead it would return to the login menu. I booted to a # and applied all availiable dist-upgrade updates after an apt-get update, still no luck. I sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop. Choose KDE instead of GDM. Still no luck at login. I then sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop still no luck. I checked for all dist-upgrades and updates and applied them. Tried to login again no luck. Next, I installed fluxbox(probably not really related to the problem), still no login. Choose KDE from the login menu and it tried to login but it instead returned to login screen. Tried to login KDE again and this time it worked, then told me a had a bug/crash and this is the comment after the report I sent. So please open the bug again. If this is what causes the xsystem not to work, because that has been a problem with most of the versions I have used, it's only a matter of time before I install or update something that causes xwindows to stop working. Thanks.
