I opened the window and I didn't touch anything I only pressed the cancel button.

This looks like a known issue with very old versions of the GStreamer mpeg2dec plugin in gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly.

I believe this is is fixed in newer versions of gst-plugins-ugly/ubuntu.
