Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

No idea. I think it happened while requesting a file with a name ending in .mp3 in firefox that didn't actually return any valid content. (was in the middle of dev on an app - oops..)

Thank you for your bug. That's a libswf problem, could you attach the file which trigered the bug (/var/acm/acmcontent/0f294286-77a8-44dc-9adc-ee757d301da8/Windows_Media_SSL_1.5_2005-07-21_05-22-PM_files/help.swf)?

The offending help file is attached, though I don't understand why that showed up as the cause of error. It loads fine when loaded directly and wasn't even part of what I was fidgeting with. (as far as I know...maybe moz was checking it over from cache? Doesn't make sense at all now that I think of it because that particular location isn't even managed by firefox, it's part of the actual application so presumably firefox would have had no way of knowing its original location...and yet there it is...creepy.)

p.s. It's probably been fixed already but the automated bug report delivery utility opens the system default browser with a path string of "file://home/jkuhnert/"https://launchpad..blah blah" instead of just https:// ...Ie I have to manually edit the path. Maybe this is all just a comedy of errors related to the same thing. I can't remember anything anymore. It's all just a foggy blur.

Even if this file displays correctly with swfdec current git (post-0.5.3), it doesn't crash.

swfdec 0.3 branch is dead and no work would ever be backported to it.
