Reinstalling kdm an dpkg-reconfigure kdm made it possible to boot again but i can not change themes as kdmtheme now sais following message
"Override files found, so this theming will not have effect. Please see /usr/share/doc/kdm/README.Debian for more information"

Thanks for the bug report.

Would you post your /etc/kde3/kdmrc file?

Hi,

I've never been able to change ANYTHING in KDM settings - Kubuntu always uses the default Kubuntu theme for KDM, which I would really like to change. I can't change any setting for KDM - the greeting test, logo, user list etc. Maybe this is related to bug 22218 ? If I Change UseTheme to false in kdmrc, as suggested in bug 22218, I get a totally useless KDM screen (well, you can login, but the user list is useless, and the left part of the greeting/login window is missing). I've just upgraded to kubuntu 6.10 (Edgy).

So either I'm being hit by this bug, bug 22218 (if that is not the same), or a totally different one. I'm surprised this bug has been persisting so long, as this is such basic functionality IMO, or then it's just the one box (my parent's) I'm maintaining that is somehow screwed up.

I'll be happy to give more information (logs, kdmrc, package versions; whatever) !

Actually, it's the right part. Sorry for multiple replies =)

Thanks for your report. This problem seems to affect the unstable version of Feisty. Do you still have these problems also in stable version?

I close this report, because your bug may be fixed in stable release or in any case is no longer reproducible. Feel free to report other problems. Thanks.
