Thanks for your bug report. The crash looks like a memory corruption. Could you try to get a valgrind log for it? (you can follow the instructions from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind for that)

This time it even crashed gaim running under valgrind

Thank you for the log, that points is to a gstreamer problem duplicate from bug #79062

Having an another valgrind log with gstreamer0.10-plugins-good-dbg libglib2.0-0-dbg libgstreamer0.10-0-dbg could be useful
