Bug Description

The newest Feisty beta Live-CD detects the screen of my iMac correctly: In /etc/X11/xorg.conf I read 'Modes "1680x1050"'. But this does not work with Vesa.

I have to:
-sudo killall gdm
-sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Change to "1024x768"
-sudo gdm
The 1024er is not nice, but better than nothing.

The other live distros use 1024x768 automatically.

Moving to xresprobe.

Is this still an issue with gutsy-beta?

In Gutsy Release Candidate it is OK.
Ubuntu uses automatically Vesa with a lower resolution (1400x1200 or something like that) out of the box.

I selected a standard monitor with 1680x1050, but even then it is not possible to switch to that resolution.
I'd say the bug is fixed, because for installation and data recovery it is enough.

Today I had the time to install Gutsy.
Everything works fine. The graphic is no longer buggy.
