No idea what happened there, but clearly not related to schooltool.

Might be a defective CD drive, quick google found http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1664221 and there are more.

affects: schooltool → ubuntu

I'm sure it's not the cd drive or the cd... I get the same issue when using a usb drive.

I can confirm that this is not a drive issue. I just tried Trisquel 5.0 (Libre-Linux/Ubuntu) and got this error. I have no problem running other CDs, DVDs or burning (i.e. LinuxMint 10.04). I suspect it is related to the contents on the disc. Either some kind of bug, burn error or damaged storage media (disc). Most probably cause number one.

FOLLOWUP: re-download the same Trisquel 5.0amd64 image and it worked. Both images had the same CORRECT md5sum values; so my guess is the problem was with burning first time round or item number 2 "burn error".
