Bug Description
Binary package hint: xorg
Hi,
today I made a feisty update and after rebooting, the X server doesn't come up and tells me, that it "could not open default font 'fixed'".
I reinstalled xfonts-base but it didn't help.
Bye
Sven

Thank you for your bug. Could you run "ls -ld /usr/share/ X11/fonts" and copy that to a comment? When did you install your Ubuntu? Did you modify things by hand to workaround some xorg breakage since you installed it? The problem is likely that /usr/share/ X11/fonts -> /usr/share/ fonts/X11 has not been created because the directory was already existing on your box
