Bug Description
I installed Ubuntu 10.04 on my notebook HP NC6000 (intel Centrino1.8 GHz, RAM 4 GB) . after installation, I issued update from cmd :
# apt-get update
and encounter many errors.
Open the terminal produces errors :

I think this is a general issue with your installation.
Please can you check the permissions on /bin/sed:
sudo ls -l /bin/sed
and provide the output in this bug report.
For some reason the permissions or this program looks like its broken.
