Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

The word correction is gone in ubuntu feisty.

F7 doesn't work and "underlining wrong words" during writing doesn't work, too.

I'm using the german language-pack. Every Parameter is correct in options is ok.

Thanks for your bug report. At the moment I can't confirm your bug with the italian language-pack. It could be a specific problem in German language pack.
Please check if you have installed the package myspell-de-de and add to this bug report the version of Openoffice installed.
Could be interesting to test the word correction setting English as language and check if problem happens.

yupp,

it was the missing myspell-de-de package. I thougth it would have been installed while chosing "install missing language translation packs". But I was wrong with that. Now it works fine. And my user wordbooks work again, too.

Thank you.

btw. Synaptic doesn't work. Always asks for the root pw.

If Openoffice.org works fine, I'll close this bug.
Please open a new report, if you have problems with Synaptic.

I have the same problem with the german spell checking in openoffice. myspell-de-de was not installed, but hunspell-de-de and language-support-writing-de was.

installing myspell-de-de removed hunspell-de-de and language-support-writing-de, but the spelling correction didn't work with that either.

Manually installing the german spell checker from http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/dict-de fixt it for me, but it would be better if it would work out of the box.

Markus Heberling you have a different problem that is most likely due to having the german medical dictionary installed
