libre-office has no icon in the dash and as well as in the software center.see the screenshot the bug also present in 11.10
see the first one icon in the dash(in screenshot)

there is no specific icon of the libre office in the dash and launcher.it should be improve and instead of this there will bea good and nice icon.thanks.
I am using ubuntu 12.04

confirmed in KDE too, just the generic X icon is displayed.

Bilal: can you clarify this bug report; is it:

  a. The look of the LibreOffice icon (large white rectangle, with corner cut-through diagonally)
  b. The LibreOffice not being present in the Unity Launcher by default
  c. Something else?

i don't think there is no need to explain more,,
press super key
write libreoffice
you can see that there is no perfect icon.."color less white icon"
up streamers said that it a unity bug.so i opened here.i don't think so you need any other thing.That a clear perfect bug.we all see

Well look here http://www.libreoffice.org/ its the very same icon so I don't think Unity is at fault.
