3) What is expected to happen in LibreOffice Writer via the Terminal:
cd ~/Desktop && wget https:/
File -> Save As -> File Type: Microsoft Word 2007/2010 XML (.docx) -> Save -> close and reopen the file with Writer is the page number in the header remains.
4) What happens instead is the header field remains but the page number does not.
WORKAROUND: Save as Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP/2003 (.doc).
