11.10 installer crashes when removing packages due to not finding gac-package-remove

Bug Description

Looks like a normal installation, but the installer crashes. I did not choose the package ubiquity, it is already selected, dont know if it is related to it.

These actually may be hardware related as messages like the following were found in this bug's logs and some of its duplicates:
