what is the differnce between "#" and "of items" it shows the same number

There is no difference, it's just that "#" is a feature of the web client (available on all grouped views) where "# of items" is a field of the analytic view (and available only where specified).

Handling of default group_by (from action) should be fixed in trunk branch as of revision <email address hidden>

Formatting of group headers according to user's language configuration should also be fixed.
