Just started gnome-calculator via the Run Application applet and boom -- gnome-panel blowed up real good.

Thanks for your bug report. The crash looks like a memory corruption. Could you try to get a valgrind log for it? (you can follow the instructions from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind for that)

The memory corruption issue might be correct. I just replaced a stick of PC133 RAM with another, larger stick. I now have 2 x 256MB = 512MB. Never saw this problem before, but this is my second night with 7.04 Feisty Fawn so it's possible that this happened because of the 69 updates that I was in the process of installing.

The memory corruption is actually an incorrect software use, not due to the computer
