Problem starting maximized gnome apps if compiz enabled (Ubuntu 7.04, gnome, AMD64)

Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

Steps to reproduce:

With Compiz (desktop-effects) enabled

- start gedit
- maximize it
- close gedit
- start gedit again

result:

gedit is visible on task bar, on workspace preview, but no window is present.

I need to use task-bar right-click menu to unminimize gedit and close it. Then I can start it again (because it doesn't start maximized after that).

This is true for many gnome (gtk2?) applications.

Seems to be fixed now.

Not sure how to set the status when the reporter no longer gets the bug but we didn't change anything. :) Will just set to rejected.

Changed in compiz:
status: Unconfirmed → Rejected

It has started to work correctly after last gtk update.

I have similar problem. Steps to reproduce:
1. with Desktop-effects enabled start "Places->Home Folder" (nautilus), maximize it, close it
2. start it again. Now it is not possible to close it or to minimize it using cross button or underscore button, respectively (in the top right part of the window)
