Feisty Herd5 killing kdm hangs the kernel

Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdm

This bug was discovered in Kubuntu
Herd 5 Live CD

Boot CD

After desktop displays with install icon, do NOTHING, not even mouse moves
No activity for 20-30 minutes Just let it set as is after booting

30 minutes later move mouse to Kmenu
click once on Kmenu icon

Kmenu icon enlarges to twice its normal size and does nothing
Wait 5-10 Minutes, still not action

Press ALT CNTL F1
Get Console Window
sudo pkill -9 kdm

Press Cntl Alt F2 Console 2 displays
Continue previous actiong thru F6 each console displays
Press Cntl Alt F1

Kde desktop displays, minus all icons and markings, but outline of
icons exist in bottom launch area.
Mouse pointer frozen at this time

Press Cntl Alt F2 thur F6 no console windows
Cntl C Cntl D Cntl Alt Backspace, nothing works, kernel hung

Force power off with power button.

Tested using CD only, on Toshiba A75-226 Laptop

This problem appears to have disappeared in
Feisty Herd 5 build 3/19/07

I tested it and it no longer hangs the kernel.

Closed because reporter tells that was fixed currently.
