Why not let adept_updater automatically fetch package lists?

Bug Description

Binary package hint: adept

Currently, when you click on adept_notifier's icon, and give your password to start adept_updater, you get a mostly empty window, and you have to separately click on a button to have the adept_updater start fetching package lists. (This is on Dapper.)

Why not let it immediately fetch the package lists, without having to click a button first? Isn't this why you started the adept_updater, after all?

This way the user can faster do what s/he wants - that is, reach the stage where s/he can select which packages to update and which not.

Yes, bug #49966 - as a separate feature - is taking this idea one step further. It needs more work though, whereas here, skipping the unnecessary button click should be relatively easy to address.
