XChat cannot join Freenode upon program open

Bug Description

Binary package hint: xchat

I set XChat to join Freenode upon program open, but it tries and times out. If I open a new server tab, and then type in "/server irc.freenode.org" it will connect almost immediately.

What did you click on and/or type to effect the automatic log onto Freenode?

I've used xchat with Freenode for dapper, edgy, and feisty without this problem. It sounds like a configuration issue. Check the servers tab of the Network Properties dialog for Freenode. I have the following listed in this order:

irc.us.freenode.net
irc.au.freenode.net
irc.eu.freenode.net
irc.freenode.net

Perhaps whatever you have listed first has been down and is not responding properly.

I clicked on Freenode then entered the server freenode and it keeps cycling out to "failed - Subscription refused"
