Bug Description
Binary package hint: gimp
Description of the problem:
Starting gimp causes metacity to print warning in ~/.xsession-errors .
Steps to reproduce:
1. Start gimp .
Expected results:
gimp to start and no output to be added to ~/.xsession-errors .
Actual results:
gimp starts but the following is added to ~/.xsession-errors:
Window manager warning: Buggy client sent a _NET_ACTIVE_WINDOW message with a timestamp of 0 for 0x34025d7 (The GIMP)
Window manager warning: meta_window_
How reproducible is this problem:
It is reproducible every time.

Ubuntu Feisty
gimp 2.2.13-1ubuntu4
metacity 2.17.8-0ubuntu1

I can confirm this behaviour on an up to date feisty. Additionally, it only happens when you launch gimp from a terminal or the "run application" tool. Presumably this is because using the Gimp menu item launches "gimp-remote-2.2 %U" and not just "gimp":
