Bug Description

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1

  affects /ubuntu/network-manager-openvpn

It'd be nice if a bit more verbose error messages were given when the
connection fails to come up. If the connection doesn't work, all
information I get is "Could not start the VPN connection ... due to a
connection error".

Is there any logfile that is written except syslog?

There is no other logfile written; everything ends up in syslog (and is quite verbose, too).

This is a really old bug. Since then, AFAICT there has been lots of changed to network-manager-openvpn; including improving error messages, so closing as Fix Released. All relevant messages from Openvpn or n-m-openvpn will show in /var/log/syslog.
