Bug Description

I upgraded from 4.7.4 to 4.8.0:

kdebase-bin:
  Installed: 4:4.8.0-0ubuntu1~oneiric1~ppa1
  Candidate: 4:4.8.0-0ubuntu1~oneiric1~ppa1
  Version table:
 *** 4:4.8.0-0ubuntu1~oneiric1~ppa1 0
        500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu/ oneiric/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

After logging out, restarting X, and logging back in, my desktop wallpapers on both virtual desktops were changed to "Ariya." I've never had a KDE upgrade change personal settings like that before.

We're looking at this, but all we know currently is that something is resetting the settings in some cases.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Kubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Kubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Kubuntu version. If you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running only once:
apport-collect 923188

and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Well, six and a half years later... who knows, haha. I haven't
upgraded to KDE 5 yet, and when I do, it will likely be on Debian. So
you might as well close this now.
