Bug Description

Any applet running under icedtea-plugin in Firefox will not be able to receive any input from the keyboard. It will respond to mouse clicks, but even after clicking inside the applet to set focus, keypresses simply do not reach the applet.

....and then after a reboot, it worked. I'll come back with an update if it gives me more problems.

There are some keyboard focus issues (in particular, Tab doesn't go to the right place in the VNC applet I was using)... when I get the chance I'll do some digging and figure out what's really going on.

A workaround in Chromium seems to be to open its internal task manager, close the Icedtea plugin and then reload the web page with the Java applet.

Same here. Installed Precise beta2 in Virtualbox, applied all relevant patches. icedtea at version 1.2-2ubuntu1.
Went through test of document signing at https://www.bankid.no/Hjelp-og-nyttige-verktoy/Nyttige-verktoy/Test-din-BankID/ without any errors.

Tried to login at my nettbank account at www.skandiabanken.no using BankID, also without any errors.

I was wrong. The problem I experienced was not being able to click in the Java applet at all, and I think that is another issue with just my laptop. Thus I close this bug and consider opening another about the frequent crashes.
