Bug Description

Recently /usr/bin/rsvg got dropped from librsvg2-bin. It breaks at least one package, auto-multiple-choice, which build-depends on librsvg2-bin and uses rsvg during build.

Yes, it was replaced with rsvg-convert.

Ok. The point of this bug report is how to handle the change. Does rsvg-convert work just like rsvg? in which case we could create a symlink for backward compatibility?

see bug #929573 as well

we will have a test rebuild for beta, I think we should fix the buggy cases we find and see what sources have an issue at the rebuild

Symlink won't work, it takes different arguments. The rsvg command has been deprecated for a long time. I'm inclined to follow upstream and debian on this one and not do anything to the precise package since rsvg was a kludge to begin with. It doesn't really make sense to write a new kludge to implement an old kludge which in turn was written to implement an even older tool.

This bug was fixed in the package chemical-mime-data - 0.1.94-6

    to rsvg-convert, which has replaced the rsvg binary (closes: #661326).

    - icons/hicolor/Makefile.in: Fix rsvg-convert usage (#661326).
  * debian/patches/series: Adjusted.
