Bug Description

Binary package hint: hal

Attached Tripp Lite Omni VS1000 UPS, but g-p-m doesn't seem to be able to tell when it goes off of AC. It seems that HAL doesn't recognize it as a battery source.

IIRC, tripplite has not a compliant HID implementation.
So the HAL embedded addon has chance not to work properly...

we have addressed it in the NUT newhidups / usbhid-ups driver.
Your salvation will come when I've finished the NUT to HAL bridging I'm currently working on.
There is already some beta code. Mail me if you are interested in testing.

Hi Arnaud,

I have the MGE AVR UPS (running on USB). I have conversed with you in the past regarding packages for managing this UPS under linux, however, I recently found out that g-p-m should manage it all just fine too.

The problem is, it seems as though my UPS is suffering from the same issue as you noted above. I have attached lsusb and lshal output for your perusal.

Cheers,
David Whyte
