Bug Description

Binary package hint: mysql-server-5.0

When running MySQL 5.0 in Ubuntu 6.10, a Java application sets the database isolation level in MySQL to READ COMMITTED. A query to MySQL states that the isolation level is READ COMMITTED, but this does not match the observed behavior. The observed behavior is that of SERIALIZABLE.

This problem does not surface in other Linux distributions that use MySQL 5.0.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Could you provide a simple test case to reproduce this bug ? Especially how you observe that the behavior doesn't match the setting ?

Thank you
