Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

When editing my impress document (originally saved in OO 2.0.2 on ubuntu etch on i386) on my feisty (updated today) ppc machine the graphics appear consistant. When I do a slideshow on the ppc machine gradients are missing, as well as inline "OLE" OO drawings.

I've played with all combinations of the openGL, accelerated output and such options in "view" but all give the same results.

I'll attach some illustrative images.

would it be possible for you to attach the actual file, or a similar file that has the same problem.

This is now confirmed on OpenOffice 2.2 on feisty on my i386 machine.
Also it is more complex than just gradients, problems with transparency also. will attach more files to illustrate.

The bug is related to a wrong combination of transparency and gradients.
I discovered how to solve the problem on the fly and keep using gradients.
Select the shape and edit the Area properties (FORMAT->AREA).
From the tab AREA select FILL as GRADIENT.
From the tab GRADIENT set the properties that you prefer.
From the tab TRANSPARENCY make sure that the "NO TRANSPARENCY" radio button is selected (is this that should create problems!!)
Press OK.
That's worked for me.

Thanks...

Hmmm, does not work for me, gradients without transparency still don't
render properly.

If you look at my original test file:
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/7715635/test.odp

you'll see that the purple and yellow box has no transparency and still
does not render correctly. Also I did a quick test with the orange and
yellow gradient, which gets inverted on slideshow.

Thanks for the effort!

.b.

In my case it renders the purple and yellow box but it cannot render the two testcases with the bitmaps yet

I can confirm that now with Ubuntu 7.10 (OO 2.3) gradients without transparency do render correctly, but those with transparency seem not to render at all. Also objects using images as texture that have transparency do not render either.

By "do not render" I of course mean in the slide-show display.

Closer... I've attached an updated test file.

Same here, I'm running Ubuntu 7.10 OOo 2.3.0 with nVidia drivers.

This bug is marked upstream as going to be fixed for OOo 3.0 which should be in Ubuntu 8.10.

There are no new official OpenOffice.org releases in Ubuntu packaging anymore => Won't Fix

If the problem persists, please mark this bug as "also affects project Libreoffice" or "also affects distribution Libreoffice (Ubuntu)" if that has not happened already.

Please leave references to upstream OpenOffice.org bugs in place to allow cross pollination.
