Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

I'm using an updated Kubuntu 7.04 (Feisty, Alpha version) with KDE 3.5.6 in my laptop and when I change the icon size and style in OpenOffice.org 2.2.0 from the default options (large icon size and automatic style) to a combination of small/automatic icon size and automatic/crystal style, it crashes (even when I try to run it again). The only solution seems to remove the .openoffice.org2 directory in my home directory and run openoffice again. The other icon sizes and styles are ok. This only happens with oowriter, oocalc and ooweb. I think it is maybe one ore more icons that are missing for the selected size/style (but I'm not sure).

Confirming.
This is in menu tools/options/view.
No crash reports, just the window disappears.

Thanks for your bug report. Can you attach the crash report from /var/crash ?

There is no info in /var/crash about openoffice. For example if I set the icons to small/automatic in oowriter, it crashes. But I can then run ooimpress with no problems. If i try oowriter again, all openoffice apps that are launched disappear. When I take a lock to the process, soffice and soffice.bin are not there anymore.
Is there another way to get a crash report for OpenOffice, (since in /var/crash there is nothing about OpenOffice)?

I can confirm this. OpenOffice 2.2.0 reproducibly crashes without any error trace when the Crystal/Small (or Automatic, which seems to default to Small) icon style is chosen.

There is a corresponding discussion on OpenOffice.org's bugtracker: http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=75531

Looks like they fixed it upstream.

Re-installing OOo-related packages didn't fix the problem!

Nelson, what version are you currently running? I can confirm that the update to 2.2.0-0ubuntu2 on friday, March 30th fixed the problem for me.
