lyx does not use Compose key sequences consistent with GNOME applications

Bug Description

Binary package hint: lyx

In gedit, firefox, and elsewhere, the key sequence Compose ^ 0 will give a degree symbol.

However in LyX, the key sequence required is Compose o o.

Do the compose key sequences *have* to be different in these different programs?

Thanks for reporting this issue and helping to make ubuntu better.

compose ^0 (⁰) is a 0 in superscript, compose o o (°) is the sign for degree. These are two different characters. Lyx works correctly. The problem is with gedit and with firefox
