Bug Description

Binary package hint: gdm

Sometimes gdm starts consuming a lot of CPu resources, 80-90%. This is what I have in top:

9149 root 25 0 13076 2548 1856 R 81.2 0.3 16:16.06 /usr/sbin/gdm --config=/etc/gdm/gdm-cdd.conf

Thank you for your bug. It's not useful without details, do you have a way to trigger it? Do you use gdmflexiserver? Does it happen often?

I think it might be gdmflexiserver. It has happened a few times recently. I use gdmflexiserver --xnest because just gdmflexiserver hangs up the system on logout from a second user. I have to file another bug for that. Let me know if you needany additional information. I can try to replicate it again.

yes, exactly, I've just tried it. Any way to kill this process without restarting gdm?

No, it is fine. Though I do not use gdmflexiserver --xnest anymore, just switch with Switch User.
