Bug Description

Would be very nice to have this new eclipse plugin, which seems to be an "official" eclipse plug-in.

As with the Eclipse Web Tools Platform (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/104986), this is an essential tool for Web Developers.

I'll take this if you provide a link to the source

You mean the source for PDT as in the project URL?

http://www.eclipse.org/pdt/

Or the actual source?

would be nice to have Eclipse updated to Version: 3.4.0
I did the install by hand and it works fine.

Maybe it's time to have eclipse-pdt package in repo?
it is "only" the most popular Eclipse project...

I'd volunteer, I just have never done packaging before. i'm in Computer Science and have tried signing up for a mentor, but no one will help me.

Hi Brett,

I've some experiences with packaging for Debian although I'm not a Debian Developer. So I can't sponsor any uploads from packages you do. But once the package is ready I believe we'll find a sponsor.
If you're new to Debian packaging then there's a lot you need to learn. You may want to start reading the Debian New Maintainer Guide[1]. I also recommend you to use GIT as VCS for the packaging. You can ask me questions on jabber via thkoch2001 ät debianforum.de or via mail thomas ät koch.ro

Good luck!

I have changed that bug to invalid because Eclipse them self don't provide the Eclipse PDT bundle any more.
