Bug Description

Binary package hint: emacs-snapshot

emacs-snapshot-gtk segfaults on startup. however, emacs-snapshot-x starts OK, and works fine as far as I can see.

This seems to have been triggered by recent changes in other packages. It was working fine on herd 5, but broke after I did an apt-get upgrade a few days ago.

Attaching one of several /var/crash/ entries

Packages from gutsy:

emacs-snapshot-gtk_20070302-1_i386.deb
emacs-snapshot-bin-common_20070302-1_i386.deb
emacs-snapshot-common_20070302-1_all.deb

fix the bug. Please backport them (actually make them available - the dependencies are the same) to feisty.

Also note that apparently there are many candidate duplicates of this bug.

I can confirm that my problem vanishes on Gutsy; afraid I didn't think to try the gutsy packages on Feisty before upgrading. Thanks, Sergio!

Does this mean that the fixed packages will be placed in the feisty archives as a bug-fix or a backport?
