Bug Description

unexpected internet activity from the avahi-deamon. systemlog shows a constant activity, with
sometimes peaks in the CPU usage.

@leoquant: the screenshot does not really help -- apart from the suggestion that your network card may be hosed.

Please attach here a comprehensive piece of your syslog, showing the startup of the network. Also please add information about your network card.
