I found this bug when trying to set up a connection using network-manager in Openbox.

I think this is a recent bug. I set up a very similar system a few days ago without this problem.

Simmilar for me: It only appers with Ubuntu 12.04 Beta. But it would be really announing if this bug would ship out with 12.04 LTS.

The bug does not apply on all wireless connections.

For me the connection was a "eduroam" network (roaming network in the education and research area in whole Germany). In order to connect to the network, you need to configure a "WPA & WPA2 Enterprise Security" with a "Protected EAP". In order to do so, it schould be possible to edit the connection, which is currently not possible.

Had the same problem with 'eduroam' with 'WPA & WPA2 Enterprise Security' and also a local wireless network, that has WPA2 encryption.

I fixed my problems by deleting these network and readded them again.

True, this is a work-arround. But you have to enter the SSID. Most Ubuntu users would not expect the aboved described behavior, which is especially anouing, when there is a "cyrpical" network-name like "Net-343-St-12".

I'm also affected by this bug. After upgrading to precise, my laptop keeps asking for password when connecting to a previously saved EAP network. Trying to edit this network resulted in the error described in the bug. I haven't had problems connecting or editing WPA networks.

3 of 4 networks I have in network manager applet are working properly, one of them is the problem. I didn't configure properly the settings of this one, canceled, and now can't edit.

so I just upgraded to 12.04 this past week, and now I am seeing this issue. I have removed network-manager-kde and installed the Wicd as I saw in another post and this did not resolve. I have put network-manager-kde back into play but still see this issue, I can edit the connections it is just very annoying to have to re-enter the password everytime in network manager to get connected. Attempting an apt-get update now so we'll see what happens, if that doesn't work how can I acquire the patch?

You should already have the fixed package installed. Please open a new bug if the problem persists after installing all updates. Thanks.
