dovecot-imap install fails due to missing /etc/inetd.conf

Bug Description

When I "apt-get install dovecot-imap", I get the following error message:

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
dovecot-imapd is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
1 not fully installed or removed.
Need to get 0B of archives.
After unpacking 0B of additional disk space will be used.
Setting up dovecot-imapd (1.0.rc17-1ubuntu2) ...
sed: can't read /etc/inetd.conf: No such file or directory
Starting mail server: dovecotError: No protocols given in configuration file
invoke-rc.d: initscript dovecot, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error processing dovecot-imapd (--configure):
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 89
Errors were encountered while processing:
 dovecot-imapd
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

This is just a warning and can probably be ignored, see bug 56057.

This is odd, did you already have some dovecot config file on your system when you installed the package?

Actually yes: I have first installed dovecot-common, then started to edit
dovecot.conf, and then realized that I need to install dovecot-imapd, and got
this error... Now I see that in addition to the "protocols =imap" line I
uncommented, another "protocols=" has appeared. To the best of my memory I
didn't do that!

I don't know what would prevent this problem from occuring, probably default
configuration of dovecot that works, but anyway, you can probably close this
bug.
