Unity launcher does not work properly

12.04 LTS Unity Launcher: At the beginning of the day, it refused to show up when I put my cursor over to the left. Now it is continuously there, but does displace program windows. Like in fullscreen with a web browser, what I mean is it covers the left margin of the program window, so I cant press the back button, etc etc
