Bug Description

Binary package hint: emacs21

When I start up Kubuntu, I get this crash message. I installed Kubuntu 6.10 and upgraded yesterday to 7.04. I could not use the latest 2-6-20-13 kernel.. I get the login prompt on opening, with some error messsages. The linux-restricted module could not be upgraded. So I am using 2-6-20-12, which seems to work fine except for this emacs crash.
