Bug Description
Binary package hint: totem
When using totem with gstreamer backend the codec discovery works and the codec installation menu appears. This does not happen when using totem with the xine backend.
There is also no automatic installation of codecs with other applications (in Ubuntu)

Thank you for your bug. The specification was about the gstreamer framework only which is what is used on the Ubuntu desktop
